Black Borneo Shawl Pinakol (SABAH)
The Pinakol consists of a pair of flat beaded bandoleer-type belts worn crossed over the chest and back. The beaded pinakol necklace is specially handmade by the Rungus women. It is produced by stringing colorful beads together in a delicate manner. Its design resembles a few of their tradition ethnic motifs which has passed down through generations. These bead-craft and its designs was Rungus special trademark and differentiate Rungus tribe from the other ethnic groups of Sabah. The motifs on this piece is called Vinusak which means flower bud. It is also give a meaning of a new beginning.
